CONDITION: NEW 2004 Castle Books hardcover (black boards) & dust jacket (in mylar cover), new edition (so they say), assumed first printing. Very few B&W drawings. There is a tiny foxed area top fore edge. CONTENT: Tracing the development of the civilizations of pre-Columbian America from village communities to prosperous city-states, this is a fascinating account of how these civilizations culminated in the magnificent empires of the Aztecs and Inca. This book was originally published in 1972 so there have been significant discoveries since publication; however, there is much merit in the text as is. IMHO.
