Publisher's advertisements on page following Contents and on final page after the end of the index. Title page within double-ruled border. Woodcut head-pieces, tailpieces, and initial letters. Engraved armorial bookplate on front fixed endpaper: Richard Snead Cox, Eaton Bishop. Richard Snead Cox (1820-1899) of Broxwood Court in Eaton Bishop, Hertsfordshire, England, was the father of the painter Walter Ignatius Cox, who eventually settled in San Francisco. Ex-library: stamped "The Pennsylvania State University Library" on title page verso; no other library markings. This is the very scarce first edition of the English translation by Colen Campbell (1676-1729) of the Historia General del Reino de Mallorca by Juan Dameto and Vicente Mut. Includes index. Lacking the 2 maps; otherwise, in Very Good Condition: upper corner of front board rubbed; title page darkened along gutter; otherwise, clean and tight.
