Sobre este artículo

London: Printed for the Author by R. Carpenter and Son. Published and Sold by Sherwood, Jones, 1823. Fits description of the 5th edition 1823 (Preface has that date). Original boards very worn and stained, spine replaced with a piece of coarse linen, hinges cracked and the book falls open in two equal parts which are nonetheless still secured by the linen spine, inked name to front free endpaper (address has been erased with abrasion to the paper). Two black and white shaded aquatints: 'The Crown at Broxbourn Bridge' and the 'Rye House Fishery', vignette of barbel, tench and roach to title page, 4 plates of Angling Apparatus, other full page plates are: 'Perch', 'Sniggling Apparatus', 'Trolling with the gorge', 'Dipping or Dapping for Chub', 'Punt Fishing' and 'Mackerel'. The only river map is that of the River Lea at the back. Numerous text illustrations ('cuts'). 373 pages. Rough-cut edges dusty and browned. Text is generally good with some spotting and smudges in places (no text obscured). Pencilled ticks and brackets to pages 2/3, tape repair to pages 176/7 and 194/5, and the whole section pages 163-206 is detached and loosely inserted. Pencil marks to pages 356/7. Pages 337-373 are loosening and slightly frayed, but the stitching still holds.. Hardcover. Poor.
