Sobre este artículo

Edinburgh: William Blackwood and Sons, 1889. First edition. Cloth. Very Good Indeed. 8" by 5.5". Not Stated. A first edition copy of this charming book on songs for fishing, written by Thomas Tod Stoddart. Including a memoir by Anna M. Stoddart, the author's daughter. Thomas Tod Stoddart (1810–1880) was a Scottish angler and poet. An early passion for angling became the main business of his life. He investigated the haunts and habits of fish, and was an adept of fly-making. This book contains all sorts of songs to pass the time while fishing, and a frontispiece portrait of the author at his craft. Containing the bookplate of a previous owner: 'This book is property of Charles G. Brown, Advocate, In Aberdeen'. Bound in full dark cloth. Externally, very smart, with a few marks to the boards. Including a previous owner's bookplate to the front free-endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Spotting to the first and last few pages, as well as to the fore-edge, but otherwise pages are bright and clean. Very Good Indeed
