Original printed boards with cloth backstrip; pp. [4], v, 58, highly illustrated with plates after photographs and drawings. Very rare first edition. One of the earliest ethnographic studies of the Indo-Chinese tribes known as Ao Nagas, living in the mountains of Assam. The author was medical companion to the Raja of Bijni and worked for the Assam Medical Service.
