Ithaca, NY: Cornell University Press. First Printing of this monograph published originally in English while Hahn was visiting professor at Cornell University. Original blue cloth, Very Good Plus. No Dust Jacket. In the winter of 2009, we acquired the research library of Professor of Chemistry Herbert M. Clark, who had worked on the Manhattan Project and taught at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. This book was signed by Herbert M. Clark in October, 1946 in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The author of the book, Otto Hahn, is the discoverer of nuclear fission and has been called the father of nuclear chemistry and founder of the atomic age. He discovered radioelements and pioneered the fields of radioactivity and radiochemistry. He is the founder of the field of applied radiochemistry that constitutes the title of this book. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1944. Glenn Seaborg, also a Nobel prizewinner, has called this book a great help in his work. This monograph is Hahn's only book-length scientific work. . Very Good. Hard Bound. First Edition. 1936.
