Augsburg, [um 1760].. Radierung. 7, 2 x 11 cm. (Blattgr.). Minimal fleckig. In einer Ruinenlandschaft ist die Heilige Apollonia, die 248 während der Christenverfolgung in Alexandria ihr Martyrium erlitt, zu sehen. Nachdem man ihr die Zähne ausgeschlagen hatte, drohte man ihr mit dem Scheiterhaufen, sollte sie dem christlichen Glauben nicht abschwören. Apollonia weigerte sich und stürzte sich selbst in die Flammen. Sie gilt als Patronin der Zahnärzte. Ihr Gedenktag ist der 9. Februar. Der Kupferstecher Philipp David Danner ist in der zweiten Hälfte des 18. Jahrhunderts in Augsburg nachweisbar.
