Crimson covers are heavily textured with Arbutus nineteenfortyseven written out in gold textured script, along with the Indiana University seal, in stamped gold. Gilt is bright. Owner name written on first endpaper, no other defects. A beautiful copy. . The year is 1947. The Second World War has just ended. This is the first post-war yearbook of a major midwestern university. Beloved President Herman Wells is in his ninth year in office. The great Branch McCracken is the Hoosier basketball coach, and IU beat Purdue twice. Bo McMillan was football coach then, and led the Hoosiers to a 6-3 record and another victory over Purdue. . 4to 11" - 13" tall. 480 pages. K7 .
