Quarto; nicely rebound in the period style in dark blue half-morocco over marbled boards with red morocco title label lettered in gilt and with new endsheets; vii, [1]. [9]-116 pages; with 60 plates, one of which (plate 55) is bound out of order; a piece approximately 1" x 4.5" has been excised from the top of the title leaf, undoubtedly to cut out a previous owner name; there is a 20th century name penned on the the front endpaper and a contemporary name penned on the first blank leaf; there is foxing throughout as well tidelines at the corners.~~The First Edition of Mr. Benjamin's important work, which redirected the Federal Style in American architecture which he had helped to desiminate, to the Greek Revival movement.~~. Very Good binding.
