The lower section of pp29/30 in the second book is damaged. Or blindstamped cloth, dec spine, gilt. The cloth is rubbed, with several tears at the spine and some wrinkling to the cloth of the rear board. There are the remains of a paper sticker by the spine foot. This slightly abridged version of the two books, which were first published in 1820, covers the natural history of northern waters, observations of the atmospheneology of the Arctic regions, northern whale-fisheries, an account of a modern whale-fishery, and the narrative of proceedings on board the ship Esk during a whale-fishing voyage to the coast of Spitzbergen in 1816.. Abridged Edition. Hard Cover. Good Plus. 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall.
