This classic account is one of the few by a surviving glider pilot. Hagen flew on the Second Lift and fought right through, escaping by swimming the Rhine on the second Monday. First published in January 1945, his story is now widely regarded as a WWII classic. This is the revised and expanded version. Enser, p.51 (recording the first edition).
