Gialli Probiti 98, first printing of this edition, 12mo hardcover in original dust jacket, Italian translation of "Peril Is My Pay" (Fawcett Gold Medal 1018, 1960), here as "See You in Rome". Digest-size hardcover, photographic cover featuring nude blonde Virginia Rogers ,a popular American glamour model, posing on a polar bear skin rug. Other Gialli editions credited models on the jacket flap, not so here. Giusto Vaglieri's "Gialli" imprint was one of Italy's finest, offering translations of (mostly) American crime fiction w/ winking cat face mascot, tiny man in clutched fist illustration on the rear panels, lush, full-color pinup jacket photos of Raquel Welch, Lili St. Cyr, June Wilkinson, others. Very Good in a Very Good jacket, light foxing & toning, dot stain on rear pg; jacket w/ brief laminate bubbling, a few tiny tears, scuffs, dot stain on rear flap. Somewhat uncommon international pulp.
