Dentelle detailing to spine and corners, and gilt titling to spine. Shelf number inked to spine. Joints cracking and worn. Chip to spine tail at front board. Scuff to rear board. Sunning to boards. Wear to edges and corners. Text block is sound. Marbled endpapers. Ten B&W plates w/ tissue guards, incl. frontis, and B&W illustrations throughout. Collation and names of the plates does not match list of illustrations. Several plates named are missing, and two not listed are included. Illustrated title. Tanning to edges. Small tear to foot of contents page, text not affected. Library stamps of Hamilton Public Library to all edges and title page, and bookplate of the HPL Reference Collection to the pastedown. Presentation plate of The Heirs of J.S. and Hortense Gordon to the Hamilton Public Library, Februayr 1963, to pastedown. Including articles on: Ancient Cairo Houses, The American Wonderland, The Revived Use of Terra-Cotta in Architecture, Art Sales of 1888, Reproductions of Foreign Art in the South Kensington Museum, New Prints, Japan and its Art Wares, etc. A unique volume for the art lover.
