Sobre este artículo

London: Henry Colburn, 1841. Leather. Very Good. 8" by 5". None. An insightful and informative work regarding one of the oldest crafts and practical skills, needle-work. This work looks at the history of needle-work as well as practical discussions of various forms of needle-work. The third edition of this work. Chapter by chapter, the Countess of Wilton discusses several different types of textiles. She discusses the needlework of the Tabernacle, of Egyptians, Greeks, Romans Dark Ages as well as Romance and Chivalry. There are two chapters dedicated to the Bayeux Tapestry as well as romances worked in Tapestry. There are sections on needlework in costume,on books and embroidery in general. This educational work concisely and clearly discusses a wide variety of needlework and is intended to be an 'acceptable accessory to every work-table'. The Countess of Wilton wrote another work on textiles, titled 'The Book of Costume, Or Annals of Fashion'. In a half calf binding with paper covered boards. Externally, very smart with patches of rubbing to the spine, extremities and boards. Spine label has suffered a small amount of loss due to rubbing. Gilt is fading to spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean. Very Good
