New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1978. Large format hardcover. Very Good/Dust Jacket condition Good . SIGNED by the artist on half-title, relatively small signature in black ink. Foreword by Thomas S. Buechner. Color plates of paintings, b/w reproductions of caricatures. 206 pages. Some wear & tear to jacket, edge curling. Levine, 1926-2009, was an American artist and illustrator. He studied at the Pratt Institute and served in the Army after World War II. Many of his paintings of garment workers were destroyed in a 1968 fire. He later became a political illustrator, and his caricatures often appeared in the New York Review of Books.
