Sobre este artículo
New York: D. Appleton and Co, 1875. Hardcover. Very Good. Hardcover. With 19 chromolithographs by K. Kellerhoven and over 400 black and white wood engravings. Paul Lacroix (1806 - 1884) was a French author and bibliophile who worked in the Imperial Library of the Arsenal, Paris when researching the arts included in this volume. First issued in French, this is a later edition translated into English. Bound in red suede over red pebbled cloth covered boards with gilt title and decoration to spine and front board. Three inch split to leather along top of front joint. Soiling to boards including dampstaining along bottom edges, wear and fraying to edges of boards, and heavy rubbing and scuffing to spine and hinges. Minor toning to pages. Foxing to some pages including tissue guards. Dampstaining to bottom margins of most pages. Still an attractive book with wonderful illustrations, despite noted wear. Size: small quarto. 548 pages. ART/020223.
