Asahi Shinbun-sha 朝日新聞社.. 20 issues, original pictorial wrappers (one lacks upper wrapper). A little minor wear but overall very good. 36.5 x 26cm). Four issues from 1926 (October 27th, November 17th, 24th, December 15th); three from 1927 (January 12, April 27th, June 8th), one from 1929 (January 1st) lacks lower cover, upper cover present but detached; four from 1948 (14th January, 3rd March, 17th March), one from 1949 (22nd of June), one from 1951 (17th of January), and six from 1952 (1st of January,17th of January upper corner torn one leaf, 27th of February (upper corner little torn); 5th of March, 29th of October, 26th of November and the 3rd of December. Asahi Graph was one of Japan's leading popular photographic news magazines. The text is in Japanese, but many of the pre-war photos also have titles in English. Issues typically include photos of royalty and other notables, movie stars, current events and social trends.

The 1920s issues include images of Japanese trams past and present, the Meiji Shrine gardens, traditional Japanese tattoos, the central street of Yokohama as it was in the Meiji period and as it appeared after being reconstructed following the 1923 earthquake, the 1926 Imperial Art exhibition, conflict in Shanghai in 1927, "The Modern Girls of Japan", photos of snow country, and illustrations of popular contemporary hairstyles.

The 1940s and 1950s issues give some vivid insights into post-war Japan, with features on police raids to suppress the illegal brewing of sake, contemporary fashions (complete with price tags), the British royal wedding of Princess Elizabeth and Prince Philip, the post-war life of members of the Japanese imperial family, changing life in the countryside, the ongoing poverty of orphans and the homeless, a left-wing demonstration in Tokyo, the proclamation of Hirohito as heir apparent, the lives of convicted Japanese war criminals in the Philippines, the growing popularity of rugby, a dolphin hunt, and police confrontations with students. .
