On August 9,1902 the New York Times printed the following item, " From San francisco is announced the appearance shortly of a series of photographs, with accompanying and appropriate verses under the general title of Baby Roland Booklets. The pictures and accompanying text are the work of George Hansen, a landscape architect of California, and tehir subject is Mr. Hansen's son, Roland Ott. The idea of the books is to give a minute pictorial details of the swift shades of joy and sorrow which go to make up the life of a little child. There will be over two thousand photographs in the series,which will be brought out periodically by Elder Shepard of San Francisco." A very unusual and interesting project.
