First Edition. Condition: Near Fine. Appears unread, faint reading crease, trivial minor shelf wear to lower extremities near tail of spine, else pages are clean and binding tight. A about fine copy. Hand signed 4X on each of the title pages of stories by; George R.R. Martin, Mike Resnick, Cory Doctorow and Kage Baker. First appearance ever of George R.R. Martin's novella "Path of the Dragon" a story of the character Queen Daenerys I Targaryen, Daenerys Stormborn from the A Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones) series, based on the Daenerys chapters from the third novel in the series: A Storm of Swords that was nominated for the Nebula Award. A Storm of Swords was later made for the HBO television series Game of Thrones from 2013-2014 in the third, fourth and some parts of the fifth season series. The previous novella "Blood of the Dragon" was published in July 1996, also in Asimov's Science Fiction magazine and was a Hugo Award winner. Both of the stories published by the author GRRM in Asimov's Science Fiction magazines are now scarce, even more so signed by the author. Additional short story, novelettes signed on the title pages by Kage Baker "Merry Christmas from Navarro Lodge", Mike Resnick "Redchapel" and Cory Doctorow "I Love Paree" with additional contributions from many more authors. As of this writing, this is the only known copy on the market signed by all four authors; George R.R. Martin, Mike Resnick, Cory Doctorow and Kage Baker. Cover art by Bob Eggleton and B&W interior illustrations by Darryl Elliot. Modern first fantasy novella, scarce signed collectible. 148 pgs. 12mo.
