Sobre este artículo

New York: Bloch Publishing Company. Good with no dust jacket. 1906. First Edition Thus. Hardcover. Reprinted, with alterations and considerable additions, from an article in the Quarterly Review, April 1902. "My chief object in expanding and republishing the essay has been to make an impartial survey of the Jewish question in Europe. If one is to generalise about the Jews, as the mere name of anti-Semitism requires, and as so frequently happens in the prejudice of ordinary life, at least let us be certain that we know who these Jews are, what they believe, on what they wait, how they have been treated, and how they have borne the test." - Preface. Chapters include: The Problem and Some Solutions; Zionism As A Solution; The Jewish Question In The Light Of Jewish Ethics And History; Present Conditions; Spiritual Forces in Judaism. x, [2], 98 pp. Extensive bibliography. Tables. Fold-out 22.5" x 14.5" color map at back graphically illustrates the "Approximate Density of the Jewish Populations" in Europe and beyond, and is in excellent condition. Undated but page [iii] mentions the author's passing in 1906. Bookplate of Rabbi M.A. Lazowick inside front board. Presumably the personal copy of Rabbi Maurice A. Lazowick, 1901-1994, who was ordained in 1924 and served as a rabbi in Chicago and several cities in the west. Tight and unmarked with average wear to original black cloth lettered in gilt upon spine. No dust jacket. New front free endpaper. A sound copy of this fascinating study.; 8vo .
