The book is in very good condition. Gilt title and lettering on spine and front board are full and intact. Minor surface wear to the cloth boards. Rippling on top edge of textblock. Previous owner's signature on front pastedown. Dust jacket is in very good condition and is the first issue dust jacket with the 10/57 date present on the lower front flap. Price-clipped. Moderate chipping to the extremities of the jacket, most noticeable along the top edge. Old tape stains on rear flap.

Sinopsis

As a mysterious figure, John Gault appears on the scene; the country’s top banker, an oil producer, a professor, a composer, and a distinguished judge disappear without a trace, abandoning their professions and loved ones. In turn a revolution begins, creating a new society based on the ‘philosophy of selfishness’ in efforts to be dismissed from the exploitation of those with authority and power.
