Count Garin, Aucassin's father is bitterly opposed to the marriage and imprisons the lovers. They escape and after many adventures and accidents of fate the young lovers are wed and Nicolette is revealed to be the daughter of the King of Carthage. The music for this edition was written by Horace Mansion. The American artist and couturier artist Main R. Bocher (1890 - 1976) after moving to Paris during World War I worked there as fashion illustrator for Harper's Bazaar, and as Paris fashion editor for Vogue (1922-1929) and as editor-in-chief of the French edition of Vogue in early 1927. He realized that his critical eye and feeling for fashion could serve him as a couturier designer and he founded an eponymous fashion label in 1929.
Evelyn Maude Blanche Paul (1883 – 1963) was an English artist best known for her book illustrations including those which replicated the style of medieval illuminations.
