A monograph on the photography of August Sander, mostly visual, but with a brief essay on his life and work at the beginning. This focuses on his landscape photography. Sander was an influential German photographer in the early 20th century, known for his portraiture. Many of his photos document the lives of Germans during the Weimar Republic. Sander lived in Germany during the Nazi regime, with his work restricted and his book 'Face of our Time' seized by the government in 1936. VERY GOOD condition. Minor soiling, fading and scuffing to the jacket, with a faint area of discoloration to the upper rear jacket. Light fading and edgewear to the book.
