London, Bemrose & Sons, 1883.. 1883, 8vo, original publisher's grey cloth with floral decoration in dark brown and gilt, lettered on gilt panels on upper cover and spine, all edges gilt, green patterned endpapers, 764 pages. Coloured frontispiece by Richard Andre, 2 black and white illustrations by him to The Poet and the Brook by Mrs Ewing. Numerous other black and white illustrations by Randolph Caldecott and Gordon Browne and others. Authors include Mrs Molesworth and Mrs Ewing. Child's name in ink on upper cover, spine gilt dull, head and tail of spine and corners very slightly worn, tiny nick to cloth at tail, a little spotting to cloth, especially on lower cover. Child has quite neatly painted in the dress on the frontispiece and 1 other text illustration, title page reinserted and chipped, slightly torn, slightly foxed and dusty along edges, no loss of text.
