At the beginning of the text there is a two-page coloured map showing orographical features, rail communications, and main place names referred to in text. The text is illustrated with back and white photographs, black and white illustrations and maps, some double page. Green coloured cloth covered boards with gilt coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. Conference papers that were given, with illustrations, at the "Specialist Conference in Agriculture Australia -1949". Topics include physical geography of Australia, climates, soils, development of Australian agriculture, water conservation and irrigation, vegetation, pastures, field crops and farm animals in Australia. Inserted loosely into the book is a slip of paper saying "With the Compliments of the Conference Committee Specialist Conference in Agriculture Australia – 1949". The book is showing age and use. Softening and a little fraying of the back strip edges and to the book corners. Heavy sunning to the back strip and to the book edges. The titling of the back strip has become to read. Flecking of the book edges along with noticeable foxing. Bumping along the front edge of the rear panel with uniform tanning and foxing of the text block edges and pages. Foxing to the endpages and previous owners name to the top right hand corner of the free front end page. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. [13], 14 - 183, [1] pages,.
