New York: Stein and Day, 1964. 464 pp. Orange paper boards over black cloth backstrip, spine and front board lettered in gilt, with the dust jacket. Book about fine with slight rubbing at head and tail of spine; jacket clean and bright with some minor edgewear and a small nick to the top front corner, old tape on verso of lower spine. Presents well. The only novel by the Nobel winner. Technically the second American edition, reprinting The Tower of Babel published by Knopf in 1947. Translated by C.V. Wedgwood (Dame Cicely Veronica Wedgwood).
