With an introduction by Henry Steele Commager. --- In Toledano spine 8 / blue cloth / gilt titling on red spine & cover blocks / red topstain / grey Kent endpapers / jacket style h, verso lists 322 titles in ML catalog. Likely published c.1947 (though 1944 date appears in book). ML #39.2. --- A very nice copy: clean and tightly-bound but with a little age-toning to leaves; some loss to cover gilding. Fair-only, unclipped dust jacket with quite noticeable rubbing and tears, creases & chafing to edges; wrapped in removable archival mylar protector.; 12mo 7" - 7-1/2" tall; xix, 264 pages .
