Sobre este artículo
Signed by George Madison (1763-1816), second cousin to James Madison, a few months following his appointment as Auditor of Public Accounts for Kentucky, a position he would hold for twenty years. He later gained popularity as a consequence of his military service in the Revolutionary War, the Northwest Indian War, and the War of 1812, in which he was taken prisoner following the Battle of Frenchtown. Madison's popularity was such that when the citizens of Kentucky demanded he run for governor in 1816; his challenger was wise enough to drop out of the race. Madison died shortly after taking office.
