[London]: December 1, 1930., 1930.. Fine. - 27 words penned on a 7 inch high by 4-3/8 inch wide sheet of his personalized letterhead with his Lower Sloane Street address printed at top right and signed "Dunedin". Fine.

Dunedin writes: "Owing to an accident your letter remained unopened till today." Apologizing for the delay, he is returning a photo [not here present] with his autograph to a collector.

Andrew Murray, 1st Viscount Dunedin [1849-1942] was a Scottish politician and judge. He served as Secretary for Scotland between 1903 and 1905, as Lord Justice General and Lord President of the Court of Session from 1905 to 1913 and as a Lord of Appeal Ordinary from 1913 to 1932, retiring as a Law Lord in that year. He was appointed a Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order in 1922. In 1916 he had been further honored when he was made Viscount Dunedin of Stenton in the County of Perth.
