129 George Street, Edinburgh, 6 December [1842 in another hand]. 2¼ pages 7 x 4½ inches, fine. Sir Andrew Douglas Maclagan (1812–1900), physician and expert in forensic medicine and public health, and botanist, Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh. Maclagan was also one of the earliest figures involved in Scottish photography who exhibited examples of photogenic drawing to the Edinburgh Society of Arts as early as March 1843.
