He broke many records in flights on balloons, especially in 1954, when he went the highest ever known in an experiment. He is considered one of the greats in Aviation History. He wrote the 1st most in-depth history of ballooning. A renowned scientist/explorer. ALS, 1976. Written on both sides, tissue type paper, very charmingly and warmly to a Mr. Allen in response to a request for an autograph for his sons.. Autograph. Manuscript. Fine. 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall.
