It should be 'Mr. Robinson had fully recognised the desire of the Europeans to bring the native community etc.'. He became manager of his father's paper the 'Natal Mercury' in 1860. He travelled widely from 1861, staying in the United Kingdom for five months, where he studied the International Exhibition of 1862, and lectured on the colony. After a long career in politics he became the first Prime Minister in 1893.
