Handsome first softbound edition of this verse collection by the noted poet, editor, author and Miles Davis biographer (born 1939), with title page largely filled with his bold presentation inscription and signature in blue fineline: "5/2/98 / To Bill = /here's to the words / pulsating like / musical notes / through the language / of poetry. Can we / hear an Amen / for that! All / the best, / Quincy T." Recipient "Bill" is Bill Pauly (1942-2021), Iowa poet and academic especially well known for his haikus.
