Small embossed stamp in upper corner of front free endpaper of Kurtz Bros., Clearfield, Pa. Printed in two columns per page. Contains the title story in 11 chapters, along with 17 shorter stories, including one about a pair of deaf twins. The author, Julia MacNair Wright (1840-1903), married Dr. William J. Wright and was the mother of author Jessie E. Wright Whitcomb. In Very Good- Condition: cover is lightly soiled; fore-edges of boards are rubbed; endpapers are foxed; occasional finger soiling in the margins.
