First published in 1888, this new edition features additional information due to 'the rapid changes which are taking place in the western part of Canada'.With a frontispiece and further illustrations throughout from the author, but with the folding map to the rear removed.A humorous account of a trip through British Columbia, undertaken by an English party whose purpose was to assess the region for "capabilities as a home for some of the public-school and university young men who, in this overcrowded old England of ours, every year find themselves more 'de trop.'" With a forty-eight page publisher's catalogue to the rear.With a former owner's inscription to the front free endpaper.The expedition travelled the Columbia and Moyie Rivers in south-eastern British Columbia, and end their journey in Idaho territory. In the publisher's original cloth binding. A touch of shelf wear to back strip tail, otherwise externally excellent. Inscription to front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Folding map to rear removed. Pages clean and bright, with only the odd handling mark. Very Good

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
