Very Good. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. 316pp, including 158 fine line drawing and engravings, accompanied by (very) short tales, homilies and quotes, for children, illustrating in a not quite straightforward way, the letters of the alphabet. I am fairly sure that the contents is from B Schlicke's 1854 A B C Buch for Younger and Older Children, but the volume has later boards and endpapers. Minor rubbing to boards and internally occasional spotting. Handsome and intriguing volume now hard to find. All text in German. 4to.
