Near Fine/--. 11 1/4 H x 8 1/8 W x 3/8 inch. NON SMOKING STORE. My listing includes PHOTO OF ACTUAL BOOK for sale. Book Very Gently Read. Book Interior NEAR FINE/ Covers Good / Dust Jacket None or Missing. Sewn binding. Covers and spine are navy glassine boards, lettering white/yellow/red, front drawing is of elephant family at the beach in swimsuits, back cover is navy with little elephant in red shorts, red shoes and a red and white tam taking a nap leaning against a brown camel. Spine is navy and has de Brunhoff in white, Babar’s Cousin in yellow and Random House in red. Covers have a glassine finish that is delaminating in a few places on front and back covers making those areas look greyish, same finish is pretty much completely free of the boards on the spine and spine edges but is still in place giving a greyish look to the spine and crinkling a bit and one part of glassine on spine has two rips the width of the spine (3/8 inches) making a little glassine flap. Covers and spine are flat, clean, no rips, two small bent corners, a few faint vertical creases beside spine but not on it, some minor edge wear, and if the navy back cover is tilted in bright light a few rub marks can be seen from adjacent book on shelf. The separation of the glassine in places makes some parts of the cover look awful, but this is misleading for the covers have very few defects. Page edges slightly sunned and side edges have three small brown marks. Inner end papers are red with little grey elephants trunk to tail. A small child has numbered each one with pencil and put her name, small, on bottom edge of ffep. Inside of book is tight, clean, clear, bright, flat. Small child has made a pencilled number at the bottom of Page 37, this is the only mark in the book that I found. Translated from the French by Merle Haas. Wonderful colour illustrations. IMPORTANT RE POSTAGE: I'm in Canada so books to the USA/Other Countries are International shipments and may be delayed by CUSTOMS and/or HOMELAND SECURITY. I'm using the Biblio standard postage matrix, which gives average postage fees, therefore sometimes for an OVERSIZE or LARGE heavy book or expensive book, the postage may be too low and may require extra charges. If I know this in advance, I will notify the buyer before the order is processed.
This is not a huge book warehouse, it is a small one-owner store run by a true book lover. POSSIBLE DELAYS: I'm elderly and disabled and while this usually does not cause a delay in order processing, it sometimes may cause a small delay for me to get to the post office.
