[8], 401, [7], [5] (pages of publisher's advertisements) pp. Bound in dark blue cloth with orange lettering and blocking on the front board and the spine. First state of the text as per Pastore, 111. A satirical novel about middle-class American life in the early twentieth century and one of Lewis' best known works. An attractive copy, difficult to find in dust jacket. Very Good with light wear to the extremities and some minor discoloration to the top of the front board in a Very Good price-clipped and lightly edge-worn dust jacket with a closed tear to the top of the front panel.
Sinopsis
Babbitt , by Sinclair Lewis, was first published in 1922. This novel is a satire of American culture. It critiques society and the socially-acceptable behavior of middle-class American life and its pressure on individuals toward conformity.
