The book was commissioned by the Shire to mark the 150th anniversary of white settlement in the area. The book is an anecdotal history that looks at the Bacchus Marsh Shire and town in the twentieth century. It is a collection of the memories of forty-nine residents who recall their experiences of life and people in the Marsh, and describe the Shire's ongoing development and change.
