Illustrated end pages, being of a blue and white coloured design. Colour illustrated frontispiece and all of the drawings, both colour and black-and-white within the text have all been drawn by E. H. Shepard. Illustrated cloth covered boards, being the same design as for the end pages, with light blue coloured embossed design and titles to the front panel and backstrip. Blue coloured tint to the top text edge. Colour illustrated dustwrapper, same illustration as for frontispiece, with black and white coloured titles to the front panel and I'm assuming, the backstrip. A young boy is befriended by beautiful North Wind. Softening and rubbing of the backstrip edges with a little bumping of the book corners. Age toning of the text block edges and pages. A little chipping of the dustwrapper corners and rubbing of the dustwrapper edges. The top one and 1/2 inches of the top and bottom backstrip panel is missing and there is a 5 inch tear that runs along the front spine gutter edge – please see photograph there is 1/2 inch tear to the lower edge of the front panel, with associated creasing. Sinopsis
At the Back of the North Wind is a children's book by George MacDonald. It was serialized in the children's magazine Good Words for the Young beginning in 1868 and was published in book form in 1871. It is a fantasy centered around a boy named Diamond and his adventures with the North Wind. Diamond travels together with the mysterious Lady North Wind through the nights.
