Sobre este artículo
London: Chatto & Windus, 1991-1994. First edition. Cloth. Near Fine/Near Fine. 9.5" by 6.5". None. A striking collection of three first editions of Liza Cody's novels featuring female wrestler, Eva Wylie and private eye, Anna Lee. A trio of first editions in the original publisher's cloth binding with the original, unclipped dust wrappers. This novel was written by London-born British author Liza Cody. Her debut novel, 'Dupe' was extremely well-received, winning the John Creasey Prize for Crime Fiction. 'Bucket Nut' and 'Monkey Wrench' are the first two novels in Cody's series featuring tough female wrestler, Eva Wylie. In the first novel, Wylie is introduced to the reader, along with her desire to be the Women's Heavyweight Wrestling Champion of Great Britain. She coins the nickname 'Bucket Nut' due to speculation that her face is rather bucket-like. Being a hustling, unorthodox heroine, Wylie is known for her mean streak and talent for trouble. In 'Monkey Wrench', Wylie meets her match in a friend from the past. 'Backhand' features Anna Lee, a tough and likeable private eye who is thrown into a world of danger when she meets Lara Crowther, a powerful American businesswoman. Lee also makes a guest appearance in Cody's earlier novel, 'Bucket Nut'. In eye-catching, brightly coloured, unclipped dust wrappers. In the original publisher's cloth binding with the original, unclipped dust wrappers. Externally, lovely, with light bumping to the extremities and the odd handling mark to boards. Dust wrappers in excellent condition, with minor shelf wear only. Internally, firmly bound. Pages very bright and clean. Near Fine
