Illustrated dustwrapper with silver coloured titles to the front panel and white coloured titles to the backstrip. Black-and-white photograph of author to the rear fold over panel. When Frank Pollard fears going to sleep, due to what he finds on his hands and pockets when he wakes, he hires the husband-and-wife detective team of Bobby and Julie Dakota to watch over him. It appears to be a simple job, but, they find themselves in an ever darkening realm, an ominous figure stalking Frank, and their lives are threatened, including Julie's Downes Syndrome brother – Thomas. To Thomas, death is the "Bad Place", but, they all learn that there are even worse places existing on earth. Softening and a little rubbing of the backstrip edges and bumping to the lower right-hand corner of the front panel. Light age toning and a little foxing of the text block edges with some age toning of the pages. From page 351 through to the end of the book both the text block edges and pages have become more tanned. Rubbing of the dustwrapper edges and panels.
