US: Houghton, Mifflin and company, 1891. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good +/No Dust Jacket. Signed by the author on a tipped-in leaf ("Faithfully yours: Joel Chandler Harris). Harris's sixth book, a collection of Georgia tales. Bookplate inside the front cover with penciled notation above it ("Autographed by author for"). The bookplate indicates that it belonged to Frederick W. Skiff, a noted collector and bibliophile. Interior text is clean with only faint, sporadic foxing, mostly to endpapers and flyleaf. Text block is faintly foxed. Boards are mostly clean with only a few small marks on the back cover. Binding is tight with slight lean to spine. Pictures available upon request.
