Sobre este artículo
London: Kegan Paul, Trench, Trubner & Co., 1892. First edition. Cloth. Very Good. 8" by 5.5". Hugh Thomson. A later impression of this delightful collection of poems by Austin Dobson, with lovely illustrations by Hugh Thomson. A first edition, later impression of this work in the publisher's original cloth binding, with pictorial gilt to the front board and spine. A charming work written by the poet and essayist Henry Austin Dobson, mostly known as Austin Dobson. This collection includes eight of his poems, including The Ballad of Beau Brocade, A Gentleman of the Old School, A Gentlewoman of the Old School, A Dead Letter, The Old Sedan Chair, The Ladies of St. James's, Molly Trefusis and A Chapter of Froissart. Profusely illustrated throughout by the Irish illustrator Hugh Thomson, whose work notably was featured in the novels of Jane Austen and Charles Dickens, among many others. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally very smart, though faded to the spine, with minor shelf wear to the extremities. Two small faint marks to the spine. Gilt remains bright to the front board. Binding is slightly strained to page 1 and page 49. Otherwise, internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean except for the odd spot to the first and last couple of pages. Very Good
