Pp. 60(last colophon); qr. navy cloth, blue & white patterned papered boards, a trifle canted, edges lightly rubbed and bruised; price-clipped dust wrapper, slightly soiled, edges rubbed and split, with closed 3cm. tear at foot of backstrip; bookseller's sticker at foot of upper pastedown, inked ownership inscription (dated 1956) on upper free endpaper, the free endpapers faintly offset, a couple of spots of foxing; The Hogarth Press, London, 1954. First edition. *Short story based on the author's experiences as a prisoner of the Japanese.
