The pages are sound, the text is clean, but the endpapers have many notes and illustrations on them. Heavy wear to the spine ends and corners, rubbing and heavy edgewear. "Barnes Readers were educational and informative, containing lessons, exercises, tables and lists. They are "beautifully and copiously illustrated" and aim to be "instructive as well as interesting." ; 12mo 7" - 7½" tall; 384 pages .
