The Sporting News, St. Louis, Missouri, 1966. Softcover. Condition: Near Fine. First Edition. 432 pp. Text white, clean and unmarked. No former owner attribution. The front cover features a b/w photograph of Sandy Koufax, Los Angelas Dodger southpaw pitching at Busch Stadium in St. Louis. The Dodgers' mound marvel led all major league pitchers in 1965 in victories, 26; winning percentage, .765; complete games, 27; innings pirched, 336; strikeouts, 382; and earned-run average, 2.04. As a result of his performance, Koufax was a unanimous choice for the Cy Young Award. The text includes a listing of all active field players, pitchers, managers. coaches in the major leagues in 1965 with biographical information, printed autograph, and career statistics. Few copies of these books have survived.
