Originally written in the 1930s for investors who had been burned by buy-and-hold investments in supposedly safe stocks (like Fannie Mae more recently). Loeb considered a speculative attitude to be essential in making profitable stock investments, while remaining generally conservative by keeping the bulk of a portfolio in cash or cash equivalents. The fourth edition adds about 20 articles (about 40 pp) to the text of the third (1957) edition, all in the postscript. Shipping weight 2 lbs. (International 1 lb., 12 oz.). 4th ed, later printing. . You can place credit card orders through Biblio, or we will ship upon receipt of payment by check or money order.
