Hardcover, 1950 and 1952, first editions, published by Methuen & Co. Ltd., London; the first book contains xviii + 315 pages, with 32 maps and 9 panoramas; the second book contains xvi + 216 pages, with 18 maps and 8 panoramas.
Octavo/8vo. Measures around 8 3/4" by 5 7/8" by 1 1/8" and 3/4". Dust jackets are a bit torn and tattered with several chips out of them, with some scuffing, marking, a little discolouration on spines and a little staining. Red and green cloth bindings, slightly marked but very clean. Signs of shelf-wear. Bindings a little slack but reasonably firm. Page edges of the first book are scuffed, a bit browned and foxed, while the edges of the second book are slightly marked but very clean for age. The pages surfaces of the first book contain a little foxing, though mainly to endpapers, preliminaries and hindmost pages, while the pages surfaces of the second book are very clean. The first book contains a tipped in note of errata and addenda. Page surfaces are clean, with no marginalia, underlining, etc. See pictures for further information.
