Plaintext dustwrapper with yellow and white coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. In this book we follow the journeys of a group of Australian men and women roaming the countryside looking for work during the Great Depression of the 1930s. Based on the author's own experiences as an itinerant worker. Softening and rubbing of the back strip edges with minor bumping and rubbing of the book corners. Rubbing to the lower book edges. Tanning of the text block edges and of the pages. Offset tanning to the end pages. The dustwrapper is not in great shape: – Chipping, with loss to the dustwrapper corners and back strip edges. The edges are somewhat creased and shows small tears. Sunning to the back strip and to the rear panel with stains and faint foxing to the dustwrapper. The front edge of the dustwrapper is torn and in some places missing. Browning of the fold over panels and a few stains and foxing spots to the verso. First Australian Edition.
